A youth-led educational movement working with rural classrooms across Assam, India through teaching, documentation, and student engagement.
The Brahmaputra Intellectual Initiative (BII) works with students and classrooms across Assam through educational engagement, grassroots documentation, and youth participation.
The Brahmaputra Intellectual Initiative draws inspiration from thinkers and leaders who believed in the transformative power of education, social responsibility, and human dignity.
For his belief in education as a means of character building, self-confidence, and nation-building.
For his commitment to the people, culture, and social realities of Assam, and his vision of human unity through knowledge and understanding.
For his conviction that education is a tool for empowerment, social justice, and democratic participation.
Handwritten aspirations collected from students during BII engagements across Assam.
"I want to become a teacher so I can come back to my village and help children like me learn."
"My dream is to be a doctor. I want my mother to never have to walk far for medicine again."
"I want to learn computers and make something that helps farmers know when rain is coming."
Brahmaputra Fellows are trained youth volunteers who engage with rural classrooms through teaching and interaction.
Fellows are selected, trained, and placed in educational initiatives where they support learning, develop leadership skills, and gain meaningful field experience.
